After the Storm

It has been surreal the last couple of days, to be so focused on the terrible and uncertain and then certainly terrible weather that barreled down on the Eastern seaboard because it has been drop-dead beautiful here in San Antonio. The sky has been this crazy kind of blue and it has been clear enough to get an eyeful of moon and stars at night.

Although I have been living in the land of crisp cool mornings, sunny afternoons and blue blue skies, I've been carrying the howling winds and storm clouds and the dark, soggy aftermath of Hurricane Sandy around in my back pocket.

I look to the East in the morning, light a candle, say a prayer.
