Reality Check

What I thought were allergies turned out to be a full fledged cold in both Lefty & The Kid. Lying awake last night as I listened to both of them snore and cough, snore and cough, I felt a bit ridiculous about the whiny tone of Sunday's post.

Yes, we're moving and that's hard, but we have the resources to move. We found a great place. We can rent a truck and haul boxes the handful of blocks between here and there.

Yes, being surrounded by snoring and coughing is not conducive to getting much sleep but we have medicine and soup and tea. We have health insurance. We have good doctors.

Big picture, I am damn lucky and it is not very gracious to whine about it when so many others are losing jobs, or houses, or health insurance.

Thus endeth the complaining. Bring on the boxes.

  1. Eh, that wasn't whining. I'll show you whining... hahahaha.

I don't mind moving, but I hate that feeling of "I've left something behind." I have crazy dreams of a dozen plants, left unwatered, and going back months later to try to revive them.

    Uh, anxious much, Wackiest Mommy?

See it as a chance to shake off the old and bring in the new.

  2. Then again, it's okay to feel what you feel--and sometimes, it actually DOES help to do a little complaining--you get it out of your system, then you can roll up your sleeves and get back to work.

But yes, I'm with you on the gratitude--big picture is always a good place to study...
