Project Arse Week Five or "I'm a Stranger to Nirvana, I Don't Box Outside My Weight"*

You know it's going to be a good day when one of the first things you say to your family is this, "Can someone take a picture of my butt because it's butt day?"

Here's my rear end a la week five. To celebrate, I'm doing something very special - I'm taking my arse to a karate class. I've sat on the sidelines of the martial arts for years, first as Lefty's adoring fan and most recently as The Kid's. At some point this summer I decided it was time to get out on the mat myself. Or maybe I decided it was time to do something that scares the crap out of me because this sort of does.

Wish me luck.

*This is a quote from an ancient and arcane song and if anyone can name the artist and the song title, I'll give them a dollar.

  2. I would have guessed Weird Al Yankovic, but his Nirvana song is "Smells like Nirvana"...or something like that.

You go girl! Karate is impressive! Years ago, I was a fitness-kickboxing mama and LOVED it.

I'm too scared to get a household male to take a picture of my butt. Then they'd know what I'm doing with it!

  3. Hey, Laura, I was going to put "Paradise Garage" on my blog's playlist for you, but, alas, they do not have it. How can that be??

You will be the coolest karate mama! 5 weeks is great! (That makes 5 weeks of empty promises from me to my ass ...)

  4. Well, I've broken a lot of promises to my poor ass too.

Paradise Garage is pretty hard to find these days. Ah, the memories...
