  4. I thought that I commented! How could I have let The Kid's first day of second grade go by without commenting?

That is a cool first day shirt! Does The Kid like those Time Warp Trio books? Jesse loved them at his age. Those and Nate the Great, and -- oh! -- Edward Eager books! I miss book time here. Sigh.

  5. We watch the cartoon, Time Warp Trio on tv sometimes. We'll have to check out the books!

  6. Way to go, Kid! He's looking enthusiastic! And is that, by any chance, an L.L. Bean sapphire lunch bag with a gecko on it? Or does it just look exactly like my son's lunch bag?!

  8. I thought so! Our sons have good taste! And so far, kindergarten is going well--he's cheerful getting on the bus, and he happy coming back off. Not that he tells me much (How was your day? It's a secret. Did you have gym? I forget. What did you do at center time? I don't know. What books did you read? I forget.)

  10. The Kid was exactly the same way - and to some extent it's still difficult to pry info from him about his school day.

At dinner we all tell our "highs and lows" of the day. This does tend to get him talking a bit about his school day.
