I Went to a Baseball Game!

We are lucky enough to live in a town with a really great minor league baseball team. The weather was just so perfect on Friday afternoon, and it may have been the best day all season to go to a game. Don't be fooled by all our spring is here hoo ha. It's going to be 85 degrees here today and it will only get hotter. We pay for our early spring in the currency of scorching hot summer.

I love baseball. It's been my favorite spectator sport for a very long time (even before Bull Durham ). I sometimes watch baseball games on tv, but the best way to watch a baseball game is in the stands, under the lights, with your kid and your handsome husband with a warmish overpriced beer (everything tastes better at the ballpark).

The home team won and we had a great time.

  1. What fun! I haven't been to a baseball game in ages--making a mental note!

And by the way--The Kid has a beautiful smile!

  2. Handsome Husband who also takes a glove to the there is someone who is prepared to take over, if needed!!
And I agree that everything tastes better at a game...I usually pass on hot dogs, but at a game...gotta have one!!
I miss going to games...before the world series and before the Rockies got, like, famous..we used to go to games when we went home...sitting in the RockPile ($5 a ticket), but now...even the RockPile seats have gotten high...but, we'll go anyway!!!

Glad you had such a great day!!! I do miss South Texas weather in the spring!!!

  3. That looks like the sweetest possible evening! Makes me wish April offered such hope here in Minnesota, but alas. . .

  4. Thanks, you'all. It was a very spur of the moment, spontaneous decision to go and that's something I almost never do. I'm more of a plan ahead kind of gal. Driving to school this morning, both Lefty and The Kid said how much fun they had.

I'd like to learn to trust that spontaneous impulse..
