Slow Cook Thursday at Mrs. G's Place

I'm mixing it up over at Derfwad Manor today. My long-promised chicken and dumplings recipe is there in all it's traditional southern glory...

I knew I would get a lot of fun comments from this, but you guys, all the hair compliments are just killing me! Really, y'all can come over to my blog and say nice things about my hair any day!

Thank you, Mrs. G for being such a gracious and generous hostess.

  3. Sent here by Mrs. G. Great poem.

Love the redheaded boy--but then I have a real weakness for redheaded boys--I married one and I birthed one!

  4. I am sorry, but Alton Brown is already spoken for by me. I worship the man. He can cook. He rides a motorcycle. He uses big words. He is a geek. He understands why egg whites foam. He prefers real butter. He is the PERFECT, PERFECT man.

  6. From one red-head to another - hello!

Can you believe with this hair color, I didn't have one red-headed daughter? Unlike you with that beautiful red-headed son!

Great post - look forward to reading you more often.

    Have a great day.

  8. Thanks! I am feeling a lot better today - I love those socks too. They were a gift from my mom. My goal this year is to knit a pair for myself.

  10. Sent from Mrs. G....and where were you a week ago??! I grew up eating my Granny's 'chicken and dumplins' and got such a craving for them I decided to just try and do it. Pretty much the same recipe (with or without all that lovely grease!!)...'cept the dumplins are a bit differnt!! You gotta love southern cooking...just with a lot of time in between!!
    Lovely meeting you!!
