Five Days In

Five days in to National Poetry Month and here are the things I've learned so far:

I get inspired when I have a journal open on my lap and a pen in my hand. I used to spend a majority of my days like this and I really don't anymore. I carry the tiniest little journal in my purse and it does not seem to count. I need access to a bona fide 8 1/2 by 11 comp book at all times. This is a good thing to know.

I wouldn't have made it through the first two days without the enforced solitude and stasis of the pick up line at Max's school.

Writing makes me hungry.

When you are in a hurry the internet can be so sloooooow.

More people than I ever imagined are checking in over at For the Time Being. Very few comments but the page views are through the roof

Sitting down to write every day makes me miss the writing I used to do here.

Is National Poetry Month making you hungry too? Are you too dissatisfied with the size of the journal in your purse? As for me, I think I'm going to need a bigger purse.

  1. Maybe a nice knitted tote bag would work?

  2. I carry a pretty little fabric-covered notebook in my purse, but it is much too small to be remembered. I end up using it to take notes for other things, but not for journaling except in extreme cases. I understand the need for a larger journal.
