We had rain the last two nights and the violent weather, the wind and hail and tornadoes stayed well to our north. My house is standing. My husband and child are healthy and out in the world today doing the things they love.
I'm grateful for the sunshine and a cup of tea this morning when so many have lost so much.
If you can, do something today for Myanmar, for China. Light a candle. Say a prayer.
Thanks for the gratitude reminder. We have it so good.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest son goes to a Methodist daycare and on Thursday he informed me we had to buy cookies for the kids in "Meemar"! The teachers made cookies to sell and the money will go to where it is needed!! We are gathering clothes and supplies, too.
ReplyDeleteNot sure there are enough cookies in the world to help, but we do what we can.
Debbie...saying her own prayer of thanks and of hope.
I think it's hard not to be paralyzed or overwhelmed by the enormity of disasters like this. I tell The Kid, it's a multitude of tiny individual acts that eventually makes a difference. No act of generosity or kindness is too small - they all add up!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel pretty petty--just think, I have the LUXURY to piss and moan in a blog, while true suffering is taking place in other parts of the world...reality check indeed.
