The Easter Party

Don't get me started on Daylight Savings Time and how I'll be all out of whack for the next week… I'll spend the next several days looking at the clock and thinking what time is it really, what time does my body think it is…?

We went to an Easter Party on Saturday at a ranch out in the hill country. (This is not as glamorous as it sounds. Some of what we currently call the hill country is a year or so away from becoming just another suburb of San Antonio.) This ranch was on some beautiful hills sloping down to the Guadalupe River. There were chicks and ducks and smelly cows. Don't get me wrong, I grew up around cows - I like smelly cows.

There was a gameroom with a fussball table. (Lefty swears this is the correct spelling from the German word for football. He's taken about a thousand years of German so I have no choice but to trust him.)
The Kid scores!

We went on a hayride and saw some deer.

Here's a closer but slightly out of focus shot.

There was an Easter egg hunt. I call this shot eggs in brown grass.

Here's a clip from the hunt.

Max brought home an entire basket of candy. (I don't know about you, but there are only so many sweet tarts I can eat. I'm thinking about giving them away as prizes here on the blog.) I like this shot because you can see Lefty's arm as he dutifully carries my purse.

It was a rather nice way to spend a sunny afternoon.

  2. (I must be about 5 minutes behind Mrs. G. this evening...everywhere I go, she's one or two in front of me!!!) :-D

I love those pictures!!! We have a lot of nature here, but...Easter Egg hunts? Only here at our house and not quite that large!!!
And tell Lefty that he is in fashion for over here...many men carry "man purses"!!!

  3. Lovely photos! And yes, Lefty is correct--my mom's German and I've spent plenty of time in Germany!
